Erythropoietin (EPO)

Erythropoietin, also known as EPO, is a glycoprotein hormone that controls erythropoiesis, or red blood cell production. It is a cytokine (protein signaling molecule) for erythrocyte (red blood cell) precursors in the bone marrow.

Females: 3.7-19.4 mU/ml  
Males: 2.6-34.0 mU/ml
